North East Nursery Bucks the National Trend
Despite Ofsted revealing that as of 31st January 2017, 47% of 19,331 childcare establishments inspected had been downgraded since their previous inspection, a local nursery has managed to defy the trend. The nursery has been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted with exceptional systems of work and has been presented with a National Award.

- The position for settings offering care ‘before and after school and during school holidays’ to ‘children younger than those in the Reception class age range’ has been amended. It now clarifies that providers ‘should continue to be guided by, but do not have to meet, the learning and development requirements’.

Why are so many Schools and Day Nurseries Downgraded?
A Government report published on the 31st January 2017 revealed that a staggering 47% of 19,331 childcare establishments had suffered a downgrade from their previous inspection. A further 31were rated inadequate on their first inspection and 145 rated as requires improvement on their first inspection.
